Privacy Policy
SKUWise ("we," "us," or "our") provides a Shopify application that calculates net profit per SKU for e-commerce merchants. This policy describes what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to Shopify merchants who install the SKUWise app, visitors to getskuwise.com, and anyone who contacts us at support@getskuwise.com.
2. Data we collect from Shopify merchants
When you install SKUWise on your Shopify store, we receive the following data via the Shopify Admin API, with your explicit OAuth consent:
- Shop information: shop domain, owner name and email, currency, time zone, plan
- Products and variants: titles, SKUs, prices, inventory item cost (your cost-per-item)
- Orders: order details, line items, prices, discounts, fulfillment status, shipping addresses (city/region/country only)
- Transactions and refunds: amounts, payment gateway, transaction fees
- UTM parameters from order landing pages, used to attribute orders to ad campaigns
We do not collect customer payment card data, full customer addresses beyond what is needed for shipping cost calculation, or any personally identifiable information about your store's customers beyond what Shopify exposes through standard order webhooks.
3. Data we collect from connected ad platforms
If you connect a Meta Ads or Google Ads account to SKUWise, with your explicit OAuth consent, we read the following on a read-only basis:
- Ad account metadata: account names, currency, time zone
- Campaign, ad set, and ad-level performance: spend, impressions, clicks, conversions
- UTM parameters configured on ads, used to match ad spend to specific Shopify orders
We do not have permission to create, edit, pause, or delete campaigns. We do not access ad creative assets or audience data beyond what is required to compute spend attribution.
4. How we use this data
We use merchant data solely to provide the SKUWise service, specifically to:
- Calculate net profit per SKU per day by combining revenue, COGS, ad spend, fees, shipping, and refunds
- Display dashboards and reports inside the Shopify admin
- Send threshold-based email alerts you have configured
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the service
We do not sell merchant data. We do not use merchant data to train AI models. We do not share merchant data with advertisers.
5. Subprocessors
We use the following third-party services to operate SKUWise. Each receives only the data necessary to perform its function:
- Vercel — application hosting
- Neon — managed Postgres database
- Inngest — background job processing
- Sentry — error monitoring
- Better Stack — uptime monitoring
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Loops — marketing email and lead capture
- Shopify — billing via the Shopify Billing API
An up-to-date list of subprocessors is available on request.
6. Data retention
We retain merchant data for as long as your SKUWise subscription is active. If you uninstall SKUWise, we soft-delete your shop record immediately and permanently delete all associated data within 30 days, in compliance with Shopify's GDPR webhook requirements. You may request immediate deletion at any time by emailing support@getskuwise.com.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including the EU under GDPR and California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email support@getskuwise.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We encrypt data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. We use Shopify session tokens for authentication and follow Shopify's security requirements for embedded apps. We do not store OAuth refresh tokens longer than necessary.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the SKUWise service evolves. Material changes will be communicated to active merchants via email at least 30 days before taking effect.
